Fatima Khalil Scholarship

AUCA Development Office is thrilled to announce in 2025 an opportunity to study and major in the LAS-Human Rights with a 100% tuition waiver. Fatima Khalil Scholarship and AUCA will cover the cost of the studies conditional on the student鈥檚 performance.

听

This scholarship was established in honor of Fatima who double majored in Human rights and Anthropology and graduated in 2019. She was a very active student and a fierce advocate for human and women鈥檚 rights. Fatima used to say 鈥淲e need respect, we need freedom that belongs to us!鈥� Upon graduation, she returned to Afghanistan where she worked with the Afghan Independent Human Rights Commission. Tragically, she was murdered by a car bomb in Kabul on June 27, 2020 while on her way to work.

At AUCA we will continue our mission to support the liberal arts education of young people that we believe will build the future with the values that Fatima Khalil so cherished. In her memory and honor, we would like to make a call for the scholarship that will support one extraordinarily motivated student majoring in human rights, furthering women鈥檚 rights who is also very actively engaged in his/her community to advance these causes.

Eligibility and Format:

听

1. You are to complete your high school in May 2025 (you are a high school student from Central Asia).
2. You are passionate about human rights and ready to share your solution to the hypothetical situation.
3. You know why we should select you (motivation Letter (up to 1000 words); resume/CV).
